This Wildlife Sanctuary, within its reach, has the beautiful Har Ki Doon valley, which is a profound adventure spot and attracts many tourists. It includes many popular mountains such as—Bandarpunch, Swargarohini, and Black Peak.
Situated in the districts of Pathanamthitta and Idukki of Kerela, the Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary lies in the high ranges of the Pandalam Hills and Cardamom Hills of Western Ghats at an altitude varying from 1,700 meters to 100 meters above sea level.
The Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is rich in a freshening variety of flora and a tempting variety of fauna which cover the area of about 770 sq km.

The beautiful seasonal behavior of its saline wetlands attracts a large number of greater flamingos to nest in this saline dessert. The average depth of these waters lies between 0.5 meters and 1.5 meters.
This Sanctuary supports an enormous batch of water birds and mammalian wildlife and is also a fossil preserve homing fossils of historic dinosaurs, crocodiles, whales, etc.
Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary is a protected area that expands over around 240 sq km in the Western Ghats, in Sanguem taluk of the Goa State.
