Many countries across the globe have updated their travel rules and have started with international flights amidst COVID-19.
Easing the already set travel barriers, India and countries like the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France, and UAE have come to some bubble arrangements.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has come up with certain guidelines.

Guidelines for International Travel to India
- All the passengers traveling to India from Canada need to fill a self-declaration form on the official online portal stating their wellness.
- After the flights reach India, the passengers have to go through a compulsory 14-day quarantine. In this, the initial seven days will be an institutional quarantine, and if found asymptomatic at the end of the 7-day period, the passengers will be put to 7-day home quarantine.
- However, the passengers can seek exemption from the institutional quarantine upon prior notice to the authorities in case of pregnancy, serious illness of any of the family members, if you are visiting the family in case of death, or children below the age of ten years.
- In addition to this, passengers who do not show any cough or flu symptoms will be allowed to board the flight after the thermal screening.
Instruction for Traveling to India
- If you are the one traveling to India from Canada, you must have Arogya Setu mobile application downloaded on your handset.
- The ticket providers shall list all the do’s and don’ts for the travelers along with the online tickets.
- The airport staff should maintain proper environmental hygiene, including spray of disinfectants and sanitization.
- Proper announcements about the COVID-19 precautionary measures are to be made at the airport and also in the flights.
- Social distancing shall be strictly followed at the time of boarding and deboarding of the flights.
Moreover, in case the patient is found symptomatic at the time of thermal screening, he/she shall be taken under consideration, and proper measures shall be taken for isolation.
Who can all travel from India to Foreign Countries?
Under the set rules, the foreign nationals and the citizens of other countries staying in India and opt for international travel. Also, Indian residents can also travel based on set conditions.
The countries that can be explored by Indian include those with airport arrangements with India. In addition to the normal VISA, the passenger must have a valid VISA with a month’s validity.
Also, the UAE has permitted tourists to enter its borders, stating that certain specific VISA holders can travel.
International travel norms shall be carefully followed while booking the flights to and from India. Wearing face masks and maintaining social distance shall be made the priority.
