Airlines are known for being super competitive in the aviation industry. They try out various things like staff uniforms, in – flight meals, liveries and cabin and lounge interior changes. All just to be a class above the rest! This is why Tripbeam brings you the most creative airline liveries around the globe. These will make you want to get last minute flights from Canada to India, simply to see them IRL! Take snapshots to showcase the momentous occasion.
‘If that’s an aircraft, why is Star Wars written on it?’ You may have something like this question popping in your mind when you see these themed flights. At any given moment, 9700 flights are making their journey across the skies. And at any of those moments, an airline decides to showcase their creativity on their fleet of aircrafts. So, we compiled the best designs of these airlines over the years to get you inspired. Go ahead, have a look!
Celebrating the Star Wars magnificent return to the cinemas with The Force Awakens (2015), ANA had a blast with these. All Nippon Airways (ANA) painted 4 aircrafts to look like droids. The most characteristic one out of these 4 (and our favorite!) would be a Boeing 787 Dreamliner which resembled the character, R2 – D2. These are still in use today!
China Eastern designed a Toy Story themed flight which allows it and its passengers to ‘reach for the sky!!’. You won’t be able to avail this flight after getting cheap tickets to India from Canada. But this will be available for flights between Beijing and Shanghai.
It has Woody painted on one side and Buzz Lightyear painted on the other. The flight is decorated on the inside too with many other Toy Story characters. And the ceiling is a sky blue with white clouds. This unique livery was created in association with Disney because they wanted to promote the Shanghai Disney Resort. The resort is located on the central coast of China.
Still in use today, passengers who flew on the inaugural flight could check – in using a custom Toy Story check – in machine. They were also able to indulge in a special Toy Story themed menu.
This came before the Star Wars themed jet where Pokemon ruled the skies with ANA. 9 flights were designed way back in 1998 (when it was at the height of its popularity) along with another 8 in recent time. This is why they have the reputation of being the ‘Pokemon airline’. The last one was added in 2011 to celebrate the release of Pokémon Black and White video games. So, it’s obvious you gotta catch ‘em all! Unfortunately, all the Pokemon jets were retired in 2016, so you won’t be able to have the real time experience today.
This is both informative and witty, where Flying 101 is an innovative airline livery. It is basically an idiot – proof guide to the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The South African carrier made the experience unique. Many passengers said it’s refreshing to see that the airline doesn’t take itself too seriously like the others. It’s still in use today. And it has witty one – liners such as an arrow that points toward the aircraft’s front door and paired with the text: ‘front door (our door is always open…unless we’re at 41,000 feet).’
America’s favorite cartoon has done it all, including having jets advertising their faces as their livery. Western Pacific painted a whole jet the color of Simpson yellow with Marge, Homer, Lisa, Bart and Maggie on the side. It is a sight to behold because they were the first airline that sold advertising space on the jet’s exterior. While Simpsons was popular, it didn’t generate enough revenue and the airline had to cease its operations. So, you can’t see it today.
And we’ve reached the end of it all. So, go book flight tickets from British Columbia to India with Tripbeam. Who knows? You may be able to see what one of them looks like! Explore now!
