Anugraha, Kerala

Set along the Meenachil River in Kottayam, this modish villa of 2 bedrooms offers a great opportunity to explore the local village. It is a restored heritage home set over an area of 7.5 acres. So you are free to go exploring the estate, go fishing or you are welcome to swim in the covered pool.

Eagle’s Nest, Sikkim

This is a 7 bedroom cottage fashioned like traditional Bhutia homes and situated in the highlands of Pangthang, the steppe eagle’s nesting grounds. Enjoy homemade meals and tea, all made from the homestay’s organic farm produce while you soak in the sun- kissed views of the Kanchenjunga range. This doesn’t end here however. The main attraction of all these is the host himself, Bhaichung Bhutia who is an Indian legend in football. He regularly takes his guests on a biking tour or a hiking trail.

Velanga Orchards, Andhra Pradesh

The orchards take up about 50 acres in Bodabandla and have 4 individual houses between a veggie garden, mango and teak trees, and 3 twin- sharing cottages. The hosts are a couple Karthik Ramaraj and Nikita Dawar, who set this up for those who want to try their hand at living mindfully for some time. Nikita, a ceramic artist, offers pottery courses and you can also choose from morning hikes, reading a book in the garden, go swimming in the nearby lake and soak in the farm living style with birds, and the hosts’ cat and 4 dogs. Book international business class flights with Tripbeam and fly to Andhra Pradesh for the experience.

Praana Experience, Karnataka

It is a sea- facing 3- bedroom homestay by the hosts Tanveer and Priyanka in Dombe village. You can enjoy bird watching from the observatory in the forest or on the property, take long walks in the village, and take a bite of the fragrant Udupi food made by the chef in- house. The place also allows you to have pets over and the owners’ dog and cat are always around to accompany you.

Fernandes Wadi, Maharashtra

Rohan Fernandes and Jharna Thakkar are the hosts of this place and are always discussing politics, dogs, food and farming because Rohan is a farmer himself. The food provided here is a mix of Goan, Kutchi and Maharashtrian cuisines and prepared by Jharna herself. You can opt for either going for a tour of the couple’s organic farm or viewing stunning sunsets on the beach. You can always book cheap last minute flights to Maharashtra with Tripbeam and bask on the beach by yourself.
