Hyderabad International Airport: Terminals and Facilities

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport or Hyderabad International Airport is located in Telangana. The airport started its operation in the year 2008.

Also, the airport is named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.

The airport has a total of two terminals that you can observe on your flights to Hyderabad.

One of the terminals is the passenger terminal, and the other is the cargo terminal. Also, one can find aviation training centers at the airport.

1. Passenger Terminal

The airport has only one passenger terminal that covers an area of 105,300 square feet.

2. Cargo Terminal

The cargo terminal at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is located towards the west of the passenger terminal.

The terminal is spread over an area of 14,330 square meters. Also, it handles 150,000 tonnes of cargo traffic on an annual basis.

1. Airport Lodge

This hotel is located in the Public transportation center area of the airport to offer luxurious accommodation after your international flights to Hyderabad.

2. Plaza Premium Airport Transit Hotel

This hotel is located opposite the car park and below the airport village area.

3. Novotel Hotel

However, the hotel is not present inside the airport premises; it can be reached within a distance of 5 minutes using the hotel shuttle services.

Lounges at Hyderabad International Airport

Plaza Premium Lounges offer three lounges in total at the Hyderabad International Airport. These are mentioned below:

1. Domestic Plaza Premium Lounge

This lounge is present at the domestic departure, airside, near gate 28, and Level E.

2. International Plaza Premium Lounge

This is present at International departures, Level E, near Gate 32A, and airside.

3. Plaza Premium Lounge

The lounge is present at Level C, Commercial Plaza, Passenger Terminal Building near the car park, Landside.

Facilities of Hyderabad International Airport

1. Airport Village

Airport Village is where you find food and beverage outlets. Moreover, locals can wait for their family members and guests in this area.

Charges are applicable. To enter the departures area, you must pay Rs. 100. On the other hand, to enter the arrivals level, the fee is Rs. 20.

2. Transportation

Here are the three transportation methods:

  • Bus

You can commute using the luxury express bus, TSRTC’s Pushpak Airport Liner. You can travel between the airport and different parts of the town.

The charges depend on the destination. Moreover, you can hail state-owned buses for long-distance travel from the airport’s bus stop area.

  • Car Rentals

There are two travel agencies located onsite at the airport. These are Carzonrent and One Car Rental.

Both of them also provide for limousine service and chauffeured cars.

  • Taxi

To avail of taxi services, you can head over to the car park level. Here, you can hire air-conditioned cabs such as Meru and Sky Cabs.

3. ATM

You can find ATM cash machines throughout the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, both Landside, and Airside.

4. Buggy Services

Buggy service is also available at the Hyderabad International Airport. You find them in various areas within the airport. You can spot them at:

  1. Domestic Baggage Reclaim Area
  2. International Departure Area, post-security check
  3. Near Domestic Aero Bridge Arrivals Area
  4. Domestic Departure Area, post-security check
  5. Near the International Aero Bridge Arrival Area

5. Parking

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport parking facility can hold over 3000 vehicles in different zones.

However, if you are commuting to the airport in your own vehicle, you may want to know the parking charges. Refer below for the same:

  1. Half an hour: Rs. 50
  2. One Hour: Rs. 100
  3. Two Hour: Rs. 150
  4. Charges for every hour after the first two hours: Rs. 50
  5. 24 Hours: Rs. 300
  6. Every subsequent hour after 24 hours: Rs. 50

6. Currency Exchange

If you want to change the currency, you can do so at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

In every terminal, you shall find the Weizmann Forex counter.

7. Duty-Free and Shopping

Hyderabad Duty-Free or HDF is a division of GMR Hospitality and Retail Limited. You can find HDF at the Arrivals as well as Departures, in the International Terminal.
