Face Masks Made Mandatory In US Flights

COVID-19 has flipped all our lives upside down, and it is one of the major things in everyone’s mind.

Lockdown that was started a month ago in the majority of countries due to the increased threat of COVID-19 also resulted in the stagnation of the flights and other transportation.

For the past month, many countries have also stopped tourists from coming inside.

But, now slowly the situation is coming under control, and the flights are back to business, and for the health of the passengers, the US government has made it mandatory for the passengers and the crew to wear masks on the flight. 

This announcement was made on Thursday by various commercial airlines. These commercial airlines consist of The Delta Airlines, The American Airlines, and The United Airlines. 

The Delta Airlines declared that the passenger, as well as the crew members, were required to wear a face mask or any other similar covering in the check-in area, lounges, boarding gate areas, and the planes for the whole flight.

The United Airlines, as well as The American Airlines, have also declared similar guidelines in order for precautions against COVID-19 for some period as they gradually resume their flights over this month. 

Similar guidelines were given out by European Airlines like The Swiss AirlineS, The Lufthansa Airlines and The Austrian Airlines days before the American Airlines made the announcement.

Some of the reasons listed by the airlines for giving out these rules were that they were looking out for the customers’ health and well being and also providing them with peace of mind when they travel with them.

They have also assured that they would continuously make changes for better and safe travel. The airlines will also provide face masks for the passengers.

The airlines are also introducing new policies which are not declared as temporary or permanent. There will be a major pre-flight cleaning and disinfecting so that there are the least chances of infection.

The airlines have also requested the passenger to pack their own food and snacks to decrease contact. Also, the passengers should keep a sanitizer with them every time.

The crew members are also to keep their face covered compulsorily. The flight attendants are given specific guidelines for covering their face masks and other cleaning and distancing. This is done so that both the passengers and the crew can travel with ease and with fewer worries.
