Not to be confused with that in Patiala, Qila Mubarak a historical place was built in the 90 to 110 AD by Raja Dab, and is the oldest fort to have survived in India. Emperor Kanishka’s kingdom prevented the Huns from invading by constructing it using mud bricks in such a layout.

Constructed by Sultan Alla ud din Bahman with red laterite stone, it features a Persian style architecture with more than 30 structures in it- ranging from moats, bastions, fortifications, palaces and museums. The fort also showcases a historic water supply system that is a Persian water harnessing technology known as Karez.
